6 Weeks

It's hard to believe that Cameron & Paige are already 6 weeks old! On Thursday Cameron weighed 7 lbs 6 oz and is now 19 3/4 inches & Paige weighed 6 lbs 8 oz and is now 18 3/4 inches. Both babies are up more than 2 1/2 lbs since birth and are both 2 1/4 inches longer than at birth! They are eating really well, and are good sleepers. They are starting to show their personalities, and are having more "awake" time during the day (luckily just during the day). Cameron is still very laid back and "go with the flow" (just like his dad). Paige is a little more "spunky" (just like mom). When she wants to eat...it's time to eat! They both are making new cute baby noises each day which makes us smile. They laugh hysterically when they sleep...I think they are plotting against us.

One Month

It's hard to believe it has only been 1 month since Cameron & Paige were born! It feels longer ironically. We celebrated with a trip to the grocery store and then had birthday cake...well, Mike & I did at least. Sadly, Mike returns to work tomorrow, but we were fortunate that he was able to take a full month off.

Professional Photos

We love how the photos turned out!! Paige is showing off for the camera for sure, and Cameron is just relaxed.

Getting Big

We have been home a week, and things are going great! Cameron now weighs 5 lbs 8 oz, and Paige weighs 4 lbs 12 oz. We finally celebrated Christmas with our families...and actually found time to take the tree down yesterday! Cameron & Paige have been sleeping is separate cribs, but like looking at each other in the same crib too. They sleep a lot right now, so it hasn't been too overwhelming. Although, after not having them home for a 2 1/2 weeks, we welcome the chaos!

Professional Photos

We had a photographer from the hospital come and take the most adorable photos of Cameron & Paige today. They usually do them in the hospital, but since Cameron was in the NICU they said they would come out to the house...yeah!

Settling In

We have had a great couple of days with the twins at home. They are eating tons, and sleeping lots...which mom and dad like at night! Both babies slept in their own cribs yesterday and last night, which is working out really well. We also gave them their 1st bath at home. Cameron didn't mind too much, and Paige wanted nothing to do with the situation. Clearly as you can tell from the photos, we had bath time right before dinner time and they are eating their hands.

Finally!

Both babies are finally home, and they came home at the same time!!!!! We have had our life on pause for 19 days...and can finally push play! We are looking forward to sleepless nights and watching them grow before our eyes!

2 days and counting...

We found out this morning that as long as Cameron & Paige continue to gain weight today and tomorrow...they can come home on Wednesday! They are eating their feedings finally! We are still holding our breath, because they cannot loose weight, but the end is finally in view! We never thought we would bring them home at the same time in the beginning, and are totally on Cloud 9 that they will be carried out together. I guess there really are "Twin Powers." When Paige was readmitted to the hospital Cameron's breathing got better. Then she was admitted into the NICU and he went off assistance all together. Once she was laying in the crib next to him everything clicked for the both of them and they started eating...and now they may be walking with us out of the hospital at the same time...WOW! Prayers and thoughts are still needed, because they are not home yet.

Getting There

The NICU is known as a "roller coaster," and we have found out in the past few days that it really is! Cameron's weight is up to 5 lbs 4 oz, and Paige is up to 4 lbs 2 oz. Cameron is the heavyweight of the two, as you can tell from photos...but he is still just a little guy. We are very fortunate that they are healthy babies, but they still struggle with their feedings. They have really great feedings that make mom & dad so excited, and then will have really poor feedings that set them back from coming home. When they eat 80% of their day's food by mouth the nasal feeding tube will come out, and they will just need to show 2 days of weight gain...easy enough right? We were hoping this process would have already started by now, but Cameron & Paige have decided that they like their nurses too much to leave. We are still hoping to be home sometime next week, but can't say for certain exactly when. We know there is a light at the end of the tunnel, but sometimes it seems so far away.

We are looking forward to 2010 and all the exciting things it brings for us...like going home! Mike & I had a nice New Year's Eve with Cameron & Paige in the NICU, enjoy the photos!
