Pumpkin fest 2011 was a success! We painted and carved pumpkins...and no one cried! C&P enjoyed painting their small (over priced) pumpkins before the big carve. Once Mike & I started carving the pumpkins they occupied themselves with the "guts!"
In no particular order (well, their was an order, but it's late & they uploaded funny!)...

Puck-Ins
Who needs toys when you have puck-ins (or pumpkins)? In preparation for Halloween festivities, I brought home two small pumpkins to paint. Carving is Saturday, hold tight. I really planned on grabbing the kids on the way home from work and taking them to get small pumpkins, but the thought of the process was a headache after my insane work day. It sounds bad, but tying the laces of 4 shoes, jackets, hats, seat belts, take the work stuff out of the car, put the stroller in....wait, who buys shoes with laces??? So, I stopped at one of the nine Jewels on the way home and bought the fall treasures...let's not tell dad that they are baking pumpkins and cost $4.99...each! Sometimes I'm frugal, and other times I am just in a hurry.

Tales from a Twin Mom...Back From Vacation!
Well, that was just what the doctor ordered! Mike & I had an amazing four days in Montego Bay, Jamaica at the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites. Our goals were simple, relax, get tan & to celebrate Aunt Sarah & Uncle Anthony's wedding (Yes, he is now C&P's new uncle, wonder if he knows that?). I was honored to be Sarah's Maid of Honor (we decided the Matron of Honor sounds too old) along with her sister, and my speech went over great!!
C&P stayed home with their Nana, and the report I got was that they were great, and I even came back to a detailed house!!! C&P knew we were on the airplane, which helps that we live so close to O'hare and they see them everyday! It was only 4 days, but I swear those two grew! Cam picked up a new nickname from Grandpa Dan, Repeat-Offender. He repeats EVERYTHING, so watch your mouth. He has also rubbed off on P, she is now talking in short sentences like...pumpkin in there, dark in there, Mickey rocket ship & rocket ship to the moon (while watching Mickey).
I wonder if we will ever return to Jamaica??

Thirteen Thoughts for Thursday
Today is dedicated to Jamaica, and my planning that went into it!
1. It took Mike & I almost 40 hours to get to Jamaica when we went in 2008 on our honeymoon.
2. We are paranoid about not making our connecting flight (because we are paranoid), so we are only taking carry-on.
3. I have a Word document that is pretty much an instruction manual for my kids, remote, dog, and washer & dryer.
4. Nana is watching C&P and Fletcher. I think she is thrilled that she gets them all to herself!...at least she better be!
5. Mike & I have always said that we will get back to Jamaica one day. After having Frick & Frack who would have thought we would be going back this soon? Thanks Sarah & Anthony Stevenson!!
6. I told my neighbor that we would be gone, and that my mom would be staying at the house. She asked for her phone number in case of who knows...I don't know my mom's number...sad? Cell phones make life so easy!..or lazy?
7. This will be the weekend that P climbs out of her crib....
8. I packed Mike based on what he wanted to bring...and then he repacked, pssshh!!
9. Yesterday morning (45 minutes too early) we heard the cutest thing from P's room, "Come here!" I only had to dig through 35 stuffed animals to find her!
10. If I don't come back with a tan I am going to freak out!
11. Why do people give me crazy looks when I bring up fingerprinting? They're strapped down!
12. I really hope I don't get frisked by TSA...
13. By now I am either on a plane or on the beach, jealous?

Tales from a Twin Mom
It's probably a good thing that I do a lot of shopping with C&P. I find that I talk to myself a lot, and now it just looks like I am talking to them! No longer do I look like that crazy girl pushing my way through the store. I also use them to ignore people :) like when they try to say "How many diapers have you changed since they were born?" What? Why would I want to keep track of that, leave me alone!! Today's comment..."Do they do everything together?" Well, they're one, so yes. Serious? Now, back to packing for JAMAICA!!

Havin' A Ball
C&P got a little surprise after nap last weekend, a BALL PIT! Cam was a naughty boy and boycotted his nap, so he got to help daddy blow up the ball pit. 170 balls, luckily they usually stay in the ball pit because that would get old!
Helping Daddy.
Playing before P wakes up.
P finally woke up to see what all the commotion was about.

Another Baby Book Worthy First...
Last night was my favorite night of the year...JMK Nippons Night! The family gathered to celebrate my birthday...oh yeah, & my brother's too. A waiter made the "Oh, twins!" comment, but it wasn't about C&P...it was about Steve & I!!! Now, I KNOW I don't look 37...so let's just assume he thought we were both 29! My family has been going to JMK since I was a baby, and we are down-right obsessed! Don't worry I did get my quart of ginger dressing that I will consume by Wednesday night (It can't go to waste while I sit on the beach after all).
This was C&P's 1st trip to JMK, and nowhere near their last!

What's a dinner without Mickey?
This was as good as a photo with 3 toddlers gets!
He eventually ate once he got a soup spoon.

Tales from a Twin Mom
I love seeing other twins out & about! It reminds me where we came from (the NICU), how we got here (Starbucks), and all the fun we've had along the way (you name it, we did it!)! It also reminds me how blessed and lucky we are to have TWO happy & healthy toddlers!
A brief photo journey...

Thirteen Thoughts for Thursday
1. Today I turn 29! How am I almost 30? ::shudders::
2. C's new phrase is "I like it!" (said with enthusiasm, love that boy!)
3. P still hasn't crawled out of her crib, but we're still waiting.
4. I've been needing a JMK fix for a while now, and Saturday can't come soon enough! It will be C&P's first trip there, but not the last.
5. P is very maternal, she puts her baby doll in it's new crib everyday, feeds it, & then gives it a bottle.
6. Today was C&P's first Playdoh experience, they thought it taste bad :)
7. 66 days before I have 2 year olds...
8. Is it good or bad if C puts himself in timeout?
9. Slowly we are getting better with using utensils to eat! Poor Fletcher is starving without C&P throwing food overboard!
10. There are currently more kid shows on my DVR than adult.
11. Next year the best birthday gift I could receive would be TWO balloons instead of ONE...One balloon with twins is bad news bears.
12. My husband rocks! He brought home Carmel/cheddar pop conr from our favorite popcorn boutique today!
13. Next week at this time Mike & I will be in Jamaica!!!!!

Pumpkins, Strawberries, and Sharks, Oh My!
It's fall & it's the weekend, so that means it's time for another pumpkin farm! Today we met up with the Lyda's at Goebbert's Pumpkin Farm in Huntley. Last week we were at the Goebbert's in Barrington, but our vote is for the Huntley location! C&P ran a muck today! The highlights were the corn maze, haunted house (Cam will tell you otherwise), goats, and giraffes (at eye level, too!). We started with the kids in their costumes (it's tradition), but changed them when the temp went up (83 in October!). It's a good thing we planned on changing clothes because one cute little puppy decided to sit in pig poop!
