Sleepover Take Two

This past weekend we packed up the car (& the dog) & headed to C&P's best friends house...Avery & Parker! The dads headed out the a guys night event, & the moms ordered food & drank wine (Cupcake Moscato anyone?). I'm happy to report that this sleepover went much smoother than C&P's New Year's Eve Sleepover! If getting 4 two year-olds (Sorry Mandi, they're 2!) to sleep in 15 minutes, and to stay asleep for 11 hours was an Olympic sport, we would win GOLD! Not only were all those rowdy 2 year-olds great, but Fletcher was a Rockstar! After a lovely Friday night grooming, he was ready for the sleepover. I was quite impressed, & take full responsibility!

Snuggle time?

" *Cold Babies "

Being tortured, don't judge my pj's.

Fletcher, relaxing.

I guess faces would be asking too much.

Storytime with A&P's daddy.

Could she be any cuter?

* Cold Babies is C&P's favorite "game" where you cover them with blankets. Some stinkers have been known to yell out "Mama, cold babies" in the wee hours of the night...

ARRR Matey

Cam got some awesome pirate bath toys for Christmas, which was perfect timing since he had been freaking out in the tub for almost a month. No reason for the melt downs, but I did master giving him a 45 second bath! Once the pirate toys were added, the kid was back to being a fish in the tub...finally! Every night at dinner he asks for a pirate bath, & it goes like this...

Look at that Powder!

C&P have been dying to put on their snow pants & boots! They were crying while I was gathering everything because apparently I was not moving fast enough! It's tough getting 2 octopi in 4 boots, 4 gloves, 2 hats, 2 jackets & snow pants...& you know I had to clean a "code brown" in the middle of it all! I got a bronze today, but will definitely move up the podium tomorrow! We were out for about 30 minutes & had to drag them in because it was COLD! Of course it was drama! There winter wonderland adventure was not drama, pure bliss!

It was so quite & peaceful at 9 o'clock. Not a plow in sight, but I had no place to go.

Unleashed!

They get a little more distance on the slide in the snow.

My attempt at a double photo.

Checking out the situation in the front yard.

They barely fit with all their gear!

Snowball fight, Cam is mid-throw.

Believe it or not, Paige is having fun (Her glove is in her lap, don't worry).

Loving it!

I PROMISED them we would go out again tomorrow, on a walk...in the wagon!

Thirteen, Uhhh...Eight Thoughts for Thursday

Thirteen Thoughts for Thursday

1. The 1 weeks worth of winter weather is starting to put me in a funk. All I want is tea & chapstick.

2. Potty training is still at the front of my mind. Everyone "makes something" on the potty, but there isn't a formal plan in place, I blame the winter funk.

3. I started a journal for C&P. Kind of like the photo-a-day project, but instead a phrase-a-day project. Let me tell you, they have a lot to say.

4. I have been in love with Pinterest! I am averaging a Pinterest project about every 3 days, I can't help it! I'll share pics later. If you're curious what I''m up, find me here.

5. My dog is annoying, but I am grateful he is only 30 lbs. Small dog, small problems.

6. I think it's hilarious that the weather folks don't know to call for 3-5 inches or 7-10...I feel like that's a pretty big difference. I wish I had a job where I could be wrong or unsure half the time...

7. Generally, C&P get a bath every other day (skin issues, lack of filth), but lately they have been asking for a "Pirate Bath" (tub full of pirate toys) everyday. Is that bad the we don't want to give them a bath everyday?

8. I have a whole list of photos I need to print for C&P's baby books. These are from their 1st year of life...12 whole months ago, oops. (Mom Fail).

9.

10.

11.

12.

13.

No mistake, I only have 8 thoughts. I blame winter...

Project 365 - Week Two

Week Two

Sunday: The one with the crazy hair is a potty champ, now we must get a plan in the works! The boy in blue is getting better!

Monday: All small boys are now secure! We call it his fort. (Paige is jumping, I don't usually make her look like Cindy Lou Who)

Tuesday: This one is a free spirit.

Wednesday:
I had a mishap one day...one gray one brown...oooops! I blame C&P.

Thursday
: Check up with Dr. Lundblad...Cam is 24 lb & 34 inches and Paige is 27.8 lbs & 35 inches tall.

Friday
: Who doesn't love a costume themed tea party, while wearing slippers?

Saturday
: Whole Foods sampler day...sushi is mine!

Whole Foods, More Like Scary Foods

We took a trip to the mall to run some errands while Mike hit up the Cubs convention. I did a great job avoiding Gymboree, too! After the mall I took C&P to Whole Foods for dinner. They have been in a food rut, so I thought it would be a good time to expose/introduce some new foods from the amazing salad/food bar. We loaded up on all kinds of random stuff, more on that later. It was getting close to dinner, so I thought we would just eat in the dining room there. On my way in I encountered the oddest, strangest, & almost frightening situation. You know that point when two people are headed into the same doorway & someone must give the other person a "go ahead?" Well, I thought that's what I was getting, but I wasn't. It went like this...

Crazy Lady: Go ahead. (smiles)
Me: Thanks! (proceeds to push double stroller through opening)
Crazy Lady: TRIES TO PUSH SHOPPING CART FILLED WITH SUITCASES INTO STROLLER!
Me: Oh, I'm sorry, go ahead.
Crazy Lady: I want to! You go ahead. (smiles)
Me: (proceeds to push double stroller through opening, again)
Crazy Lady: TRIES TO PUSH SHOPPING CART INTO STROLLER, AGAIN!
Me: I'm sorry, what are you doing? Please just go ahead!
Crazy Lady: DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!
Me: (in my mother bear voice) Excuse me, I have children, what are you trying to do??
Crazy Lady: DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!
Me: Flies through doorway as some Crazy Lady is trying to push her cart into my stroller, AGAIN!)

I still don't understand what happened, & what was wrong with her. At first I thought it was a misunderstanding, then a hidden camera show, & now I have other thoughts...like she was CRaZy! I have never been in a scary "stranger" situation with the kids, that really freaked me out, who does that???

Obviously I decided not to eat at Whole Foods with the CRaZy Lady, & took our dinner home! C&P found new foods!...with a little push from an amazing Carol's Chocolate Chip Cookie!

Paige decided that she likes edamame, green peppers & artichoke hearts. Cam decided that he likes edamame, period. There is a mutual consensus in the house that both do not like mashed or sweet potatoes, serious? Costco has a great deal on bulk edamame, DONE!

Dinner Talk

Brace yourself for this comedy! Below is 10+ minutes at the dinner table with C&P (it gets interesting after 3 minutes). If you know what Paige is saying, please let me know!

Ready for Winter

Winter is coming, & we are ready! The snow blower is gassed up & I finally bought C&P winter boots! I really saw no need to buy them before today, since it has been in the 50's. Target had boots for miles & miles...and on clearance! So we took one last walk today, & since I hate myself I brought the dog. That wasn't that great of an idea, but everyone under 3 feet was having a blast. If you want a good workout try being pulled by a hound dog while pulling 55+ pounds of toddler & wagon! C&P already know that it is going to snow tomorrow, that they get to play outside in their boots, & that they have a doctor's appointment with no shots. Thursday is going to be a blast, right? Photo update after we make a snowman!

Project 365 - Week 1

Looking back on the past 2 years, I cannot figure out where they went! To capture C&P's terrible Two's I will be starting a photo challenge (like I really need a reason to take photos). Project 365 is simple, take one photo everyday for 365 days (it's rocket science, I know). Each week I will present our week in photos...with captions, I love captions!

Week One

Sunday (January 1st...look at that!): She kept saying "reindeer," get it?

Monday: Getting tickled by daddy.

Tuesday: I wish I could say that this is the worst it got, it wasn't.

Wednesday: I learned VERY quick, if you have multiples & are training even one of them...you NEED two potties! A pink frog to match Cam's green frog! Maybe now he won't assault her while she's doing her business!

Thursday: "Aunt" Liz came over to play. C&P had a good time playing dress up with her shoes & shades.

Friday 54 degrees in January! Who wants to go on a walk??

Saturday: Real men play with dolls.

Hey Wait, They're Twins!

We had our 1st "siblings not twins" encounter last weekend. The cashier at Target handed Paige 2 stickers & said, "Give one to your little brother." OUCH! Way to go small fry Cam, she think's I was pregnant twice! I didn't bother correcting her, I'm a wannabe extreme couponer...I must focus! This encounter was totally the opposite from our normal encounters, "Are they identical? Do they like each other? Do they have their own language?" Lady I'm trying to finish my list before someone melts down, move it or lose it! I feel like I should pass out a copy of THIS when people come up to me in stores.

What's a post without a picture...

He is ashamed because his photo is being taken while he is on a pink potty. Can someone dump the trash? Great, now I just drew attention to the full trash can.

An Hour in the Life of Paige...

Paige is a troublemaker, hands down. She is funny, smart, athletic (we can tell already) & can be shy. She is like her dad! Her nickname used to be RamPaige, but if you have seen her in action you will know that she is really a beast! I say it in a nice way, but seriously, beast.

Not only was she standing on the bucket, she was trying to jump off it onto the couch.
Yes, she was successful.

The Seyler Twinshate socks, but love popcorn!
A picnic on the floor is their favorite, I think because they know next comes the vacuum!

Pushing her baby, but if you ask her she is "Not a baby!"

Her hair is getting long & thick! I think she takes after her Aunt Michelle!

An hour in the life of Cam...

Cam is our little guy, that's for sure. He impresses us each day with the words that come out of his mouth, like yesterday when he said, "Help me, Paige!" He shouts out his wants, needs & pure random thoughts all day long...gimmie my milk, meat ball, I like it, poop in my pants...

This is Cam playing with Paige's doll house...

This is the result of Cam playing with Paige's doll house. He gets really into it, loses all control & then winds up in timeout.
(Note: I snuck this photo & he still gets crazy "flash eyes!")

He really loves his kitchen, he is a domestic god. He really likes picking up (ILOVETHISKID)!
(Note: This is really a picture of the kitchen after I put it "back together")

This is what Cam did to the kitchen...he put it all in one bin, EVERYTHING! The best part, he put everything in one at a time. I love his determination when he tried to close the bin & then cried when it wouldn't close (must give physics lesson).
