Kiwi Crate

We ordered a Kiwi Crate for the 1st time, & a blast was had by all! Kiwi Crates are craft kids for kids designed by moms for busy moms (that's me). They offer different types of subscriptions (annual, monthly...), and you can pause or cancel whenever. I think as they get older we may have to upgrade with their "sibling a la carte package"...some kits have more than enough for 2 & others may not. Below is our 1st of 2 projects in the kit, all having to do with wind...

Addressed to them!

How fun does this look? It came with scissors and even tape!

His favorite color, ORANGE!

Hard at work...

C&P's "wind sockies"

If you are interested CLICK HERE for $10 off your first Kiwi Crate, making it $9.95 (free shipping). I get $10 off my next order too if you sign up....

Project 365 - Week 11

Week 10:
I was off on Spring Break this week (YES!). Looking back we were pretty active and productive!

Sunday: Gotta love a bath! Paige tries to stay in as long as possible, and when she senses we are ready to pull someone out she yells and points, "Take Cam!" Poor Cam.
Monday: This closet has been the thorn in my paw for over a year. I filled 8 bins (3 are shown & the other 5 are in our storage room) with C&P's crap! Here is the result...

Tuesday: Paige was not a fan of the thunderstorm in Rainforest Cafe. When it was over she clapped & said, "No like it!" Daddy was trying to comfort her with a mouth full of food :)

Wednesday: Oh, yeah....& my washer broke again. I have quite the history in their computer system, the repair man thinks I'm a badass, which I am.

Thursday: I don't know who loves the iPad more...

Friday: Donuts!
Saturday: Their 1st official Easter Egg Hunt, our park district rocks!

Yu Kids Island

Last weekend we hit up Yu Kids Island at Woodfield Mall. It was a hit! The kids loved it, & we loved it because they needed help on NOTHING!...not that I don't want to help them, but eventually they have to be able to be independent. One day I will be one of those Mom's who sit on the bench, one day. We ended up going twice last week since Dad took off work. After two trips in one week I pretty much think I ruined going to the mall forever. I'm sure they will expect to go there, which in a way is better than going to the Disney Store every time. After being there for 10 minutes, Paige was hooked. She kept dodging me because she thought I was going to make her leave, literally running away from me! Below are photos from both days...

Dad

I wish I could say that it gets easier, but I'm not sure I think it does. Three years ago today my Dad passed. Three years ago today I found out that my Dad would never know this....

or this...
I know secretly my Dad would have had a favorite, & I know who it would be :)
Twins don't run in my family, but someone put them there (although, there is always that readio-active theory)! I like to think it was him, always the jokester...

Project 365 - Week 10

This was a busy week! We had visitors, playdates, it was hot, it was cold, we welcomed Spring & now the lawn is in need of a mowing!

Sunday:
The 1st popsicle of the season!

Monday: Ready for school, which he is not enrolled in...don't tell him, shhh.

Tuesday:
Hello Spring!!

Wednesday: Because the Mickey chair in the background isn't comfortable enough.

Thursday: Aunt Sarah came to visit. (We were trying to make a campaign video for the Madden 13 cover vote, hence the Bears jerseys....Vote Matt Forte...or Aunt Sarah as Cam says.
Friday: We celebrated Sarah's sister's birthday with tapas HERE....so good! Tapas is officially my new favorite style of restaurant!

Saturday:
We met up with those sassy red-heads for a spaz fest HERE. It was awesome, but more on this visit tomorrow!

MICKEY!!!!!

Saturday we took C&P (along with some red heads) to see Disney on Ice! They were in heaven, & we made it through the whole show!! I went to Disney on Ice about 20 years ago (oh, that makes me feel so old!) with my dad. I remember I loved it, & he got mad when I spilled my snow cone right after we sat down....now I know why...THOSE THINGS COST 12 BUCKS! It all makes sense now. Luckily, C&P did not notice the $10 popcorn (their fav), the $12 snow cones, or the $22 light wands (though I might have wanted one). Paige may have had a "moment" when she wanted a $30 Ariel doll, but I reminded her that she has never officially seen The Little Mermaid to know if she is even a fan. Note to self, get The Little Mermaid movie!!

After Disney we hit my favorite spot, Beef a Roo & then C&P's favorite spot, the park! I really thought they would crash of the way home...I was wrong. They spent most of the ride watching Mickey on Dad's phone (I love 4G), & talking about their day.

It went like this...
"Who did you see today?"
"Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Parker, Avery, Mandi, park, slide, french fries, crocodile, pirates, princess, & stairs." ...without taking a breath...

His face was priceless.

Pirates.

Mickey, oh yeah!

The boys!

She thought if she clapped they would leave the ice so Mickey would come back.

The crew!

That would be Paige biting the dust...it's ok, they all did it & got RIGHT back up.

My jumper!

80 degree Saturdays ROCK!

Project 365 - Week 9

Another gorgeous week in Chicagoland!!

Sunday: Fletcher, this dog doesn't get enough blog love! He's 3, he barks, he's a Scorpio & he cleans my floor everyday!

Monday: Mail is here!...Oh, there's where all the cars went.

Tuesday:
Sporting some pigtails at her new outdoor table.

Wednesday:
Cam's silly face...

Thursday:
Their mecca...the park! We call this one the "secret park." A car ride away, but there are hardly ever people there...ewww sand.

Friday:
Mmmmmm, bubbles.

Saturday: After an awesome day at Disney on Ice (more on that tomorrow), we hit the park to run off some energy!
