Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Today Mike celebrates his 31st birthday, what an old man! He had a few celebrations this weekend, which is hilarious since he HATES celebrating his birthday! Here's a mini photo recap...

First of all, this little gem arrived yesterday, & it was addressed to him... Bahahaha!

Cake #1 with sport balls, oh yeah!

Cake #2...carrot cake with embellishments...

Guess who got a new Cubs shirt & street sign for the Cubs room? He also bought a basketball (or 2), & they are all he talks about!

After that amazing Christmas photo, this is as good as we get. We are all in it, & you can see everyone's face.Link
Happy Birthday, Daddy! If only there was a new Glee on tonight to continue your celebration. Oh well, I guess we will watch The Duggars and a Law & Order: SVU rerun.

Shhhhhh...

I love firsts! On Sunday afternoon we took C&P to their first movie! Skipping ahead, they had a blast! We went to see this movie....

Here is the play by play...

  • I wanted to go to the 10 am showing, but someone else (I'll give you a hint, he sleeps next to me) wanted to go to the afternoon showing at 2:40.

  • It was packed when we arrived promptly at 2:40 (too early & we would risk them getting antsy). How was this movie packed? I've never even heard of it! Ok, truth is I was mad and just wanted to see Beauty & the Beast, but it ended last week.

  • We planned to not share their age with staff...I am not paying $12 for "first timers," I'm just not! No one even asked, nice!

  • We got our tickets, popcorn, & Dad got a massive orange Coke. While he was paying I headed into the theater with C&P. This was almost a distaster. We walked alllll the way up to the back where I spotted one of theose nice family seating areas, and of course some people had their coats saving it...boo! We walked all the way back down (still alone) and found seats in the 3rd row (Can you say chiropractor?). I'm sure the crowd was rolling their eyes at "the poor girls with twins, she must be so tired."

  • Mike eventually joined us and the previews started. This is where it gets great...THEY WERE IN HEAVEN! I thought they would be scared, but they were naturals. Eating popcorn and eyes glued to the screen.

  • Of course the disney logo popped up & Cam yelled "Toy Story!" Almost...

  • Speeding ahead, they were doing great, then the popcorn ran out, and then the Skittles. Now came the chatting...

  • The last 15-20 minutes we lost them. Cam wanted down, then was babbling about some guy in a hat. Paige wanted to kick the seat filled with a cute old man. A little walk in the lobby followed by a 2nd attempt in the theater & we were out of there! Did I mention that Mike really wanted to take them to the movies by himself on Saturday when I was at the mall? Have that man committed!

All in all, they were great! We almost made it to the end, & that's about 1 hour longer than I thought they would make it! I think if it was a Pixar movie we would have been in business (think Toy Story, Monsters Inc.c ect). They are not big into "cartoons." It was another adventure that shows us how fast they are growing up!

We will go back (to the 10 am showing) and see this...

Project 365 - Week Seven

Week Seven

Sunday: Hanging out at Grandpa Seyler's with Aunt Michelle & Uncle Marc

Monday: I forgot my camera this day, but trust me, we went to Olive Garden. C&P ate their weight in bread sticks!

Tuesday:
Valentine's Day was all about love in this house!

Wednesday: More proof they hate pants!

Thursday:
I am turning them into Mommy's Helpers! They brought the laundry basket (and a few other things) back to Paige's room for me.

Friday:
I attended the annual IAER conference this week. Almost every presentation incorporated the iPad in some way...I was overwhelmed and excited! Now to get them in my students' hands!!

picture wtfcontent blind kitteh

Saturday:
They thought they were dreaming...they have been asking for the park forever!

The Park in February?

The park in February...in Chicago???? Unheard of!!

While I hit up the outlet mall, Mike was in charge & took the kids to his favorite places...the park & White Castle (barf!). Don't worry I dressed Cam in his "Truth Shirt"...Daddy is in Charge Until Mommy Gets Home.

I enjoyed getting these pictures sent to me while I was slaving away at the mall. Unfortunately, I had to stock up on spring/summer clothes for C&P...life is rough. Paige pretty much needed everything, & Cam is a still a lil' guy....which means he can wear most of his clothes from last year. Don't worry he still got some new pirate shirts, his fav! Okay, he got more than a few shirts...

What are we doing tomorrow? Taking C&P to their 1st movie!! Pray for us.

It Sounded Like A Good Idea At The Time.

Valentine's Day was crazy, and really, it was more like Valentine's week!

C&P received fun presents from all their Grandparents...some fluffy & some sugary! We have now added 4 stuffed animals to our collection. This doesn't sound like a big deal, but if you saw their collection you may mistake it for a pile of leaves & jump in it! They love ALL their stuffed animals, but they are everywhere! Some are 6 inches and some are 2 feet! I promise to take a photo.

Valentine's started on Saturday when we did a drive-by to see Nana before heading to a birthday party. Nana got them each a stuffed dog that they now call "Nana Bear." She also got them Mickey & Elmo board books & a fun farm book. They had a fun candy surprise in the mailbox from Grandma Val when we returned home!

Sunday we went to Grandpa Seyler's for dinner. Grandpa gave C&P coloring books...with STICKERS! Stickers are as important as air in the Seyler house. Aunt Michelle & Uncle Marc also handed over stuffed animals 3 & 4...a big hit! Grandma Seyler got them suckers that they may never get to eat (details below).

Monday we headed to Olive Garden for a pre-Valentine's dinner. C&P were rock stars (thank you Jesus)! They dined on bread sticks, mack-e-cheese (says the little girl) broccoli & a chocolate mint for dessert. I think Cam ate the most he ever had...kid likes his carbs!

And then there was today, today I thought I would be an awesome mom & give them mini M&Ms. Let's just say I am super glad I dumped half of them out of the container first...because it got bad. Aside from them being everywhere, they were fighting over them...THERE ARE 50 of them & THEY ARE ALL THE SAME! Then they turned on me....they became beasts! SUGAR is bad....never again! I might have then had a minor mental breakdown, pawned them off on Mike and went into a vegetative state. Sugar is bad. Now you know why they may never get to eat Grandma Seyler's suckers...

It was fun, it was busy....I barely survived.

Lots of cards!

Happy Valentine's from the Hubby! We were going to have lasagna, but like I said...I had a mental breakdown before I could get that far...

She actually smiles when you ask her to!...the boy closes his eyes.

This is where things went south, but they were so cute feeding each other sugar bombs!

I meant to put up a photo of their super cute Valentine's they made, but I forgot to actually take a photo...next year!

Project 365 - Week Six

Week Six

Sunday: To celebrate the Superbowl, we wore NIU shirts and made Valentine's! (Finished product coming soon)

Monday: Things were really quiet in Paige's room, of course I had to check and assumed the worst. I was shocked to find this, two well behaved children playing nicely! (Yes, Paige hates pants)

Tuesday:
They hate pants, but the love books! Cam went through almost every book on the bottom shelf, and rambled off what each book was about.

Wednesday:
The Oral Hygiene Queen

Thursday:
Ride-a da bikes! They can successfully get on and off by themselves, working on pedaling.

Friday:
Mommy picked up a Valentine's gift for herself... Too bad Daddy isn't on the tablet bandwagon! Mine!

Saturday:
Sitting on a potty, playing with a potty...hmmmm.

More Twins Turn Two

Sorry World, another set of twins turned TWO! C&P's best friends (& future spouses) celebrated their 2nd birthday today, Elmo style. The food was great & the kids were all happy, SCORE!

Two year-olds sitting still!

Please check your calorie counter at the door.

Yum!

P&P doing a little social networking.

This is what a REAL shot of two year-olds should look like, in motion!

What 6 toddlers & a big kid can do...

What 4 parents can do...

Bad idea...
