Santa Claus Take Two...

I thought I would give Santa one more go (you know, after this fiasco). C&P were so excited to put on their coordinating snowmen shirts (ok, maybe I just was), and head to the mall. The setting was perfect: no lines, smiling kids, & no lines! They watched 2 kids in front of them sit on Santa's lap & be happy. Clearly they were not taking note because this is what we got...

Of course when we left Paige gave Santa a big "Bye bye Santa!" I had to buy the photo...$20...gasp! I figure anytime in the future when someone needs a baby photo...this is the once I will submit! You're welcome C&P!

Happy Birthday C&P!

Wow, I cannot believe today C&P are TWO! Everyone says how fast time goes by when you have kids, they are not liars. Hmmm, where did this all start? I know...

We found out we were expecting in late May of 2009, this part was not a surprise, the next part was. When I went in for a "pregnancy confirmation" (this is the surprise part) there were 2 jellybeans on the screen. This initially alarmed me because I had just seen an ultra sound picture online the day before while researching "pregnancy." I quickly dismissed this online photo because...well, YIKES! So, fast forward 24 hours and that crazy picture in in front of me! The ultra sound tech is looking a little confused/excited and asking me all kinds of questions before telling me "count with me." Why would I count with...OHMYGOD! It's the picture from the internet! "It's Twins!" Of course Mike was at work....so, I got to spend the rest of the afternoon deciding how I was going to tell him (He had ALWAYS wanted twins). He didn't believe me, we caught it on film, & it was hilarious. The next day we had already planned on having friends over for a cook out....so, what better time to tell everyone! The Cubs were playing the Twins that weekend & we used that to our advantage! Everyone was truly surprised, join the club.

The pregnancy was pretty uneventful. I became a planet, could not stomach eating meet, & drank 1/2 a gallon of milk a day! I stopped working at Thanksgiving to concentrate on napping (this is a true story). Since the nursery was finished by mid-November (are you surprised?), I spent the next 4 weeks Christmas shopping & napping! It went like this...walk into a store, look around, & walk back out! Literally carrying 2 babies was tiring! I had a routine of taking a 3 hour nap every afternoon, I miss that routine! On December 18th (34 weeks & 5 days) I woke up from a nap & things were happening (I'll spare you the details). After talking to the Dr (who made it sound like I needed a police escort) I called Mike, showered, & cleaned the house...please, I'm sure this is a priority for many. When we got to the hospital things were really progressing quickly! My normal OB was working L&D that night (YEAH!), & I met her in the OR for a little birthday party!

At 8:43 pm Miss Page came out (1st of course, I would expect nothing less), and at 8:44 Mr. Cameron arrived! The rest is history with an 18 day NICU stay that taught us so much! Can you tell I am so beyond that now?

How about a little Then & Now...

Here we are, ready or not!

Heading Home!

C&P Turn One!

Celebrating with some Yo Gabba Gabba!

C&P Turn Two!

This time it's Mickey Mouse or bust!

Here Comes Suzy Snowflake

C&P woke up to a little surprise on Friday morning, SNOW! Well, not a lot, but enough to get excited over! The holiday season is really shaping up around here! The tree has been lit, the pine cadles are buring, the lights outside are up & the presents have been bought and wrapped (that's how I roll). Before that big man can come through the mail slot (What? We don't have a chiney!) we must eat cake!! One week until my babies are toddlers! Might as well have the age to go with the 'tude!

Livin'

Sometimes you just have to kick back on the weekends. Spend a little extra time in the jammies and have a picnic snack in the living room.
We also took Nana & Grandpa Dan out to dinner for Nana's birthday. We headed to a steakhouse we have been eyeing since we moved here, and guess who "accidentally" forgot their money...Frick & Frack...you guessed it! Those kids are always mooching. I was totally bummed when I realized I forgot my camera since Cam decided he wanted to eat some lemons! I must recreate this at home because it was hilariuos to see his face scrunch up & his body shake, but he kept going back for more! Paige happily sat with her GI Joes (Duke & Cobra) while indulging in some steak fries. Cam enjoyed schmoozing the ladies sitting around up before throwing a 2 inch Mickey figurine across the restaurant, ooops. Otherwise they were civilized human beings!
My dad would have called this weekend "livin' "...more steak & jammies next weekend, please!

Let's Reflect.

It's amazing how fast a year goes! Last year at this time Cam was just starting to crawl & Paige was starting to walk. Now, Cam climbing over furniture & Paige is climbing into her high chairs! The more fun (and safe) parts are their personalities (Cam: sweet, cuddly, sensitive & Paige: funny, loud & adventurous)
